Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Steward platform. This policy is designed to protect our users, residents, and the integrity of our Service.

1. Purpose

Steward is designed to support recovery housing organizations in managing their programs and serving their residents. All use of the Service must align with this purpose and comply with applicable laws and regulations.

2. Prohibited Activities

You may not use the Service to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

2.1 Illegal Activities

  • Any activity that violates federal, state, or local laws
  • Healthcare fraud or false documentation
  • Identity theft or impersonation
  • Human trafficking or exploitation
  • Drug trafficking or facilitating illegal drug use

2.2 Harmful Content

You may not upload, transmit, or store content that:

  • Is defamatory, obscene, or offensive
  • Promotes violence or discrimination
  • Contains malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Violates the privacy rights of others

2.3 Security Violations

You may not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service
  • Circumvent any security or authentication measures
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Use automated means to access the Service without permission
  • Share login credentials with unauthorized individuals
  • Access data belonging to other organizations

2.4 Data Misuse

You may not:

  • Use resident data for purposes other than program management
  • Share Protected Health Information (PHI) without proper authorization
  • Use biometric data for any purpose other than identity verification
  • Sell, trade, or profit from personal data
  • Retain data beyond the authorized retention period
  • Export data in violation of privacy laws

2.5 Platform Integrity

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Copy or reproduce the Service for unauthorized purposes
  • Use the Service to develop a competing product
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service

2.6 Resource Abuse

You may not:

  • Use excessive bandwidth or storage beyond reasonable use
  • Make excessive API calls that degrade service performance
  • Use the Service for cryptocurrency mining
  • Use the Service for load testing without permission

3. Acceptable Use

The Service should be used to:

  • Manage recovery housing programs and track resident progress
  • Conduct clinical assessments and outcome tracking
  • Verify resident identity for check-in/check-out
  • Generate reports for funding and compliance purposes
  • Coordinate care and communication among staff
  • Support resident recovery and program goals

4. User Responsibilities

As a user of the Service, you are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • Ensuring authorized users understand and comply with this policy
  • Reporting any suspected policy violations or security incidents
  • Obtaining proper consent before collecting resident data
  • Complying with all applicable laws, including HIPAA and biometric privacy laws
  • Training staff on proper use of the Service

5. Monitoring and Enforcement

5.1 Monitoring

We may monitor use of the Service to ensure compliance with this policy. Monitoring may include reviewing audit logs, usage patterns, and system access.

5.2 Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this policy, please report it immediately to: abuse@itmgt.io

5.3 Enforcement Actions

Violations of this policy may result in:

  • Warning: First-time or minor violations may result in a warning
  • Suspension: Repeated or serious violations may result in temporary suspension
  • Termination: Severe or repeated violations will result in account termination
  • Legal Action: We reserve the right to pursue legal action for violations that cause harm

5.4 No Refunds

If your account is terminated due to violations of this policy, no refunds will be provided for prepaid services.

6. Reporting Security Issues

If you discover a security vulnerability in the Service, please report it responsibly to security@itmgt.io. We appreciate your help in keeping the platform secure and will not take legal action against researchers who report issues in good faith.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to users. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
